Feeling completely sapped of life, Rain and her daughter move to the suburbs of Fairview, where white picket fences, welcoming neighbors, and immaculate green lawns make her forget the pain she’s running from.
Settling into her new life, she can’t stop thinking about the guy who wrecked her car. He’s charming, says the right things, and crashed into her life right when she needs it the most. It’s only natural Mr. Handsome presents Rai with a big, shiny rock to make it picture perfect.
Then a new neighbor moves down the street. Menacing sleeves of tattoos, a permanent scowl, single with no kids—he doesn’t belong in this family-friendly community.
People are whispering.
Doors are staying locked.
Secrets are being shared.
Heart pleasing love doesn’t exist here. It digs a grave and lies in it, whispering untold truths. The quaint town of Fairview isn’t so safe anymore—and neither is Rain.
About the Author
M.N. Forgy was raised in Missouri where she still lives with her family. She’s a soccer mom by day and a saucy writer by night. M.N. Forgy started writing at a young age but never took it seriously until years later, as a stay-at-home mom, she opened her laptop and started writing again.
As a role model for her children, she felt she couldn’t live with the “what if” anymore and finally took a chance on her character’s story. So, with her glass of wine in hand and a stray Barbie sharing her seat, she continues to create and please her fans.
Review
This is my first read by M.N. Forgy and it certainly won’t be the last. Where Love Lies is a thriller filled with suspense, mind-bending plots, and some pretty hot and spicy moments. We first meet Rain, who is a newly divorced single mother, ready to start her new life in a new town. Of course, life never pans out as we plan it, and Rain finds herself involved in an accident where she meets Heston. Heston is portrayed as a kind and compassionate man, who seems to want to make Rain happy, however readers quickly learn things are not what they seem.
The character development and plot lines throughout the story are what intrigued me the most as readers are introduced to a whole neighborhood of characters. There were some moments that I was literally on the edge of my seat, hyper ventilating because of everything that was going on. I managed to finish this story in one sitting because it was just that good. I cannot wait to read the remaining books of the series and explore about other characters throughout the neighborhood.
