This book was so freaking fantastic! I am so happy I signed up to read this one. This is my first read from Jill Ramsower and it will not be my last. I am literally about to go and read all of her previous novels, because this one blew me away. Literally. I expected this book to be good, it’s Mafia Romance, so it has to be. It’s more than good, it’s phenomenal. The author’s words vibrates off each page from the very first sentence. I was glued almost immediately and literally stayed up to almost 2am just to try and finish it. I struggled to stay awake so had to finally put it down, leading to me dreaming about this one.
The story between Conner and Noemi is pure passion and ecstasy. Noemi is not your typical Mafia princess, she is anything but a princess. She protects herself after the death of her mother, silently vowing to find justice for her mother’s death. She’s forced into an arranged marriage, forming an alliance between the Italian mafia and the Irish mob. In walks Connor Reid. He is sex on a freaking stick. Holy..this man had me gasping for breath as my heart raced.
“You look good enough to eat, Noemi.” He brought his lips to my ear. “And I’m famished.”
The story was fast paced, literally spanning over a month timeframe, which filled each chapter with plot spinning drama and character development. Connor and Noemi challenged each other, truly finding a way to commit to one another and their families. I commend the author for writing such a story filled with angst, action, sexual tension, and loving moments that pull at my heartstrings. This is the first book of the Byrne Brothers series so I will patiently waiting for Keir’s story!
I highly recommend this book. You will not regret it.
