Review

Charlotte has always lived a privileged life and always wanted to gain her father’s approval. So much so that she went to school, got a degree in marketing in hopes to work at her father’s marketing firm only to be shot down by her own father and engaged to a man that she never truly loved because he was part of her parents world.

Luke Wilder is a family man. He left Shady Grove to go to college so that he could open up a shop for his then fiancé. Tragedy strikes and Luke’s father has drunken his family’s Whiskey Distillery into the ground. Luke returns to Shady Grove to help his siblings raise the family distillery up from the ashes. In the process, his stuck up fiancé doesn’t want a country life and leaves Luke high and dry to return to the big city.

Feeling trapped, Charlotte runs away and leaves her fiancé at the alter. On the way to LA her car breaks down in a little Texas town called Shady Grove and she meets the Wilder twins, Luke and Duke and their sister Molly. Charlotte and Luke immediately butt heads but also have an underlying chemistry that neither one wants to admit to.

Reluctantly, Charlotte has to stay in Shady Grove longer than she would like while her car is being worked on and gets to know the locals and the Wilder family better. Luke decides to go along with the simmering attraction that he feels toward the seemingly stuck up duchess and gets to know her better. Along the way, he finds out that she could actually help revive his family whiskey distillery, Wilder Whiskey with her marketing genius. Both Luke and Charlotte slowly build a relationship during her short stay. Their romance is off the charts hot! But how long will it last?
Will Charlotte be able to tell Luke her secrets? Will Luke want Charlotte once her secrets are out? This Kendall Ryan book is a must read and I cannot wait to read Duke’s book!!
